Summers spent work riding for Tony Ingham the son of the great Staff Ingham in Epsom and the sprint king Jack Holt in Basingstoke where Andy came across the speedy Argentum, Coppermill Lad, Duplicity and Sweet Monday. 

In 1994 Andy moved to Ireland and took up the offer of work rider for John Mulhern regularly getting the leg up on the talented Flashing Steel. Times spent work riding for many trainers in Ireland most notably Ger Lyons have given him an extensive knowledge base and after a period spent back in the UK for the guvnor Noel Chance Andy returned to Ireland gave up the riding and concentrated on the Bloodstock Sales.

he has worked for some of the very best consignors, Watership Down Stud, Highclere Stud, Ringfort Stud, ACF Equine/Channel Consignment, Folland-Bowen Bloodstock, to name a few and it was this time he used to gain the knowledge he has now for sourcing quality.

In 2008 Andy was asked to oversee the breaking and preparation of 3 and 4yr old store horses destined for the sales for Kennycourt Stud.

It was here that from the 25 horses in his care he pinpointed one that stood out from the rest. On Andys recommendation this particular horse was withdrawn from his sales engagement and sent into training. The horse in question was Menorah who after winning on his debut by an emphatic 10 lengths was purchased to race in the UK. He one the Supreme Novice Hurdle 2010 and went on to win the first four runnings of the Oaksey Chase a race that is now named The Oaksey Chase for the Menorah Challenge Cup in dedication to a horse of exceptional ability.

Andy has been involved in the sales for the past 20yrs and the last couple of years involved with the Breeze Ups working alongside Brian Slattery of Meadowview Stables.
